The Itsy Bitsy Spider makes us laugh and laugh every time!: Iza Trapani did it again! My kids and I love this book! When we get to the part with "the rocking chair" we pack out laughing and have to hold our tummies! Fantastic rhyme and the pictures are loads of fun.
Spider with 10 legs: My daughter and I enjoy this book very much: the verses are sweet and the illustrations are beautiful, but it drives me crazy that the spider has 10 legs!
Great book!: This is the only book my 1 1/2 year old will sit quietly the whole way through. Because of this and other Iza Trapani books we've created some great memories. The artwork is incredible and the stories go beyond what I knew them to be as a child. It's a great book to read to toddlers who may not have the patience for other books.
Great Idea but the lines do not flow: Itsy Bitsy spider is probably the third most favourite rhyme of most kids. The reason? The words have such a wonderful rhythm about them and it sounds so plausible! This book does away with that magic. The new lines seem to have been thrust to sort of fit into the same rhythm, there is no natural flow. To make matters worse the concepts are very confusing in places! fOR eg the the phrase "off came the fan", My son expected the fan to come "off" like his bandaid, not turned off. I wasnt impressed with the art work either.
Favorite at home and in Daycare: This busy spider has places to go. Lots of additional verses to the Itsy Bitsy spider. The illustrations are tremendous. If they are reading it when I go to pick my son up at Daycare we have to wait until they are done, and then most times read it as soon as we get home. Highly recommend. We have been reading it for a couple of years now my son is now 3 and I am still enjoy reading the book and looking at the pictures.
