This is a little gem and a GREAT Christmas present: I was involved in putting this book together in the UK and I have to say I feel incredibly proud that it has found its way onto amazon.ca. I thought you might like to hear a little bit about the book... Change the World for a Fiver is the work of more than 70 incredibly talented people all of whom gave their time and talents to the project for free - that includes some of the UK's leading illustrators, copywriters, photographers, graphic artists etc. Additionally, the publisher, the distributor and all the retailers agreed to reduce their commissions so that we could keep the price down and make the book as accessible as possible. The result is a book whish is at once practical, fun and inspirational. Full of tricks and gimmicks (including a packet of seeds so you can grow your own Christmas tree and wrap around cover which is I fact an A2 poster version of the book) - it really does have something for everyone. Change the World for a Fiver was published in September 2004 to mark the launch of a new movement called We Are What We Do and quickly became a UK bestseller (it's now sold around 150,000 copies). We Are What We Do aims to inspire people to use their simple everyday actions to change the world and the book is as close as we've got to a manifesto for the project. If you want to find out more, visit www.wearewhatwedo.org. We're also planning a Canadian edition of the book which we hope to publish in September 2006. Watch this space!
Get this book and change your world: Change the World for a Fiver is fantastic. I received it as a Christmas present last year and was pleased to see that I already do about 30 of the action (from decline plastic bags, to fit an energy saving light bulb, to have a bath with someone you love :-) etc Filled with humour and simple actions we can ALL do, its best seller status in the UK is well deserved!
AWESOME BOOK!: ...when is there going to be a Canadian version??
