Violet's Hidden Doubts: I am an 12 year old girl and I loved this book. I read all of the Elsie Books, and loved them dearly. I read the Millie Books too, but not as well. I don't cry much while reading books, but in this book I cried (well I was at school, and my eyes were watering) several times. I love this series so far. This book is a great for young Christian girls.
Violet Speaks Volumes!!!: Violet's Hidden Doubts is sooooo wonderful; I truly loved every minute of the story ~ after Edward's death, of course. At first, I thought that Vi's "hidden doubts" were because her father died, but it became increasingly obvious that they were of growing up instead. Her view is very different from either Elsie or Millie's and I very much enjoyed the fact that she was struggling with growing up and changes, where I sometimes find myself. It is hard when you realize that things become different as you get older: you want to hold on to the child you once were, yet at the same time want that exciting change of independence. Violet's struggle and victory has helped me! I thought the ending of the story to be a very fitting conclusion, as Violet acted like she could take on anything and everything that the Lord had in store for her! Her playful attitude showed very plainly that she had changed.
