Andrea Doria - The Best:
Having read the four main published works on the sinking of the Andrea Doria (Collision Course, Saved, Desperate Hours, and Alive)I must say that Alive on the Andrea Doria is definitely my favourite. Ms. Simpson brings a personal approach that the other books are lacking. Ms. Simpson recounts the immigrant aspect (of which are thousands of stories) As a child of Italian immigrants who came to Canada on the Doria, I felt I could relate on a personal level as well. I highly recommend this book, and you will not want to put it down until you have finished. I wish Ms. Simpson continued success with this book.
