[.ca] Immigration Made Simple: An Easy-to-Read Guide to the ... (ISBN 1932919074)

barely a good start:
I purchased this book to assist me with an immigration law class that I am auditing in a law school. I am a practicing attorney, but have not done any immigration law. This book is only 180 pages long and starting on page 81 is a list of immigration attorneys that goes on for 10 pages. This list is followed by "sample" immigration forms... So, all you are really getting here is 80 pages of text on a very complicated subject. This is the Reader's Digest of immigration books...

Unhelpful Book:
I bought this book wanting to learn how to bring my finace to the US. There is absoultely no mention of this in the book. On the back cover they state "Here is everything you need to know to introduce you to U.S. immigration rules and regulations." Unture. I will be returning the book. Thank you Amazon for your return policy!

This is the Reader's Digest version:
Immigration Made Simple, an easy to read guide to the U.S. immigration process was written to introduce the complex subject of immigration to those who needed to have a practical understanding of the rules and regulations of our system. The title is self explanatory. This book was not written to be used as a law text nor to provide comprehensive, indepth descriptions of our immigration laws. There are many other books that fill this need. Immigration Made Simple, now in its 6th edition, has been ordered and reordered by thousands of libraries, academic institutions, corporate personnel and individuals who wish to have a better understanding of the U.S. Immigration process. It has also been a #1 Quality Books bestseller.

Fiance info on page 21:
This book sure does contain info on bringing fiances to the US-see page 21 and 22 for a complete description and list of forms. It also contains info on every other type of temporary and permanent visa, the annual lottery, NAFTA, adopting foreign born orphans, the INSPASS system, green card renewals, US Citizenship, important addresses and a list of immigration lawyers, etc. No other book on the subject covers so much material in such a straightforward way. I've read them all!

A great resource!:
I used this book as a source for my term paper on Immigration Law. It was very interesting and easy to read, and it covered almost everything I needed to know. It even included a directory of immigration lawyers!
