A Gem of a Reference:
This is a small, beautifully produced paperback on vellum paper with full-colour reproductions on each page. Each card has a short write-up explaining the date, symbolism, peculiarities of printing, with snippets of history specific to the card. I've uploaded examples of 4 pages. There are four sections: GAME - Playing Cards PICTORIAL - Playing Cards EDUCATIONAL - Playing Cards FORTUNE-TELLING - Playing Cards After buying this book I bought several decks or facsimile packs of cards depicted in this book that are still available. Not only is the book visually appealing but even a person with a casual interest in cards and history would enjoy this. I browse through it often.
