Not for the bargain hunter, but an interesting read.: I bought this book as I will be in Tokyo for a month and am interested in maximizing my productivity while shopping. This book promises in the forward to deliver the goods on the "cult" shops as well as the most popular, and it doesn't disappoint. The problem here is not a lack of information about clothes or style, but regarding prices. All shops have a rough price guide, indicated by the number of yen symbols shown, along with pertinent information about open hours, location, map coordinates, and website (if applicable). I often checked the websites if I found a shop that sounded appealing and was somewhat surprised to discover that shops that indicated one or two yen symbols (the bargain category) out of a maximum of five, had items upwards of 10,000 yen (~$100). I don't consider that a bargain. If you've got cash to burn on fabulous clothes, this book can help you match your wallet with the stores that suit your style. If you are looking for more variety in all price categories, we'll have to wait together for another book like this to come along.
