[.ca] Adventure Cambodia, 2nd Ed. (ISBN 9749575539)

Read this book before going to Cambodia!:
The safety tips are outstanding. In depth coverage of every region of the country. The only reason I didn't take it with me to Cambodia was that Lonely Planet had more phone numbers of places to stay and I lost the included map of Cambodia that comes with this book. If this book had had printed in it a map of the entire country, then this would have been the book I would have taken. Great read before going however!

Don't waste your time with any other guidebook!:
I recently returned from a motorcycle trip around Cambodia and can confirm that this is the only book to take with you - forget the others! Clear and concise, lots of maps, and a lot of "off the beaten path" true adventure travel opportunities.

Clear and detailed travel information make this book a joy:
I carried this book with me for three weeks in Cambodia and I was delighted that I chose this one. The maps pinpoint the hotels and restaurants even in small out of the way towns. This book has maps and towns not even mentioned in other books. Its has excellent coverage and inside information on the 'Big three'-Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukeville and has a huge color fold out map of the entire country on one side and a detailed map of Phnom Pen on the other,The safety and traveling tips are unique and worth the price of the book alone. Wonderfuly easy to read.

More Maps of Cambodia than any other book:
Adventure Cambodia bears a resemblance to Lonley Planet in terms of organization and layout but the similarities end there. The average backpacker would run for cover if faced with visiting all of the the destinations in this book. This book contains almost 50 maps, more than triple of any other guide book. The travel information is accurate and easy to follow for public transportation or by motorcycle or car. Adventure Cambodia provides practical information on how to reach and enjoy some of Cambodias accessable and least accessible destinations. The authors love for the country is apparent throughout the book as is their extensive knowledge of Cambodias turbulent history. However, they never allow their obvious affection to cloud their judgement, Adventure is remarkably frank about the pitfalls that Southeast Asias poorest nation presents for the unprepaired. This book is written in a clear and conversational style and will prove to be an indespensable reference for diehard explorers, motorcycle enthusiasts and anyone else with an independent streak. The safety section and traveling tips are outstanding as are the detailed instructions on traveling from one town to another. The book is filled with beautiful and unusual photographs and the maps are clear, accurate and easy to read.
