An excellent way for parents to teach young children Spanish: I bought this pack for my six year old son, and we really like it. It's actually not a book. It comes with a parent guide which will take you step-by-step through a complete lesson plan on how to teach your child the language (even if you don't speak it yourself); 50 flash cards of all the numbers, colors, family nounds, animals and foods plus some blank ones for your own use; a cassette with the enclosed storybook and a bunch of fun songs for the children to learn, a "Nicholas's Lost Cat" story in both English and Spanish, and a First 100 Words dictionary. It's well worth the price, and while it's certainly not a complete course by any means, it's an age-appropriate introduction to the language for any child between the ages of 3 and 12 or so. You'll need more than this pack if you want your child to achieve high-level fluency in the language, but this is the best solution for taking those first few steps. My only complaint is the fact that it comes with only one storybook; I would have gladly paid more had it come with several more storybooks, which are much more interesting and dynamic than a dictionary and flashcards.
