But Officer, I never speed...it was the music that made me..: What a wonderful album this is. This was the first BeauSoleil album that I bought. It was my introduction to the band years ago. Since that time, this album (I've got copies on vinyl, cassette, and CD) hasn't been far out of reach. It is upbeat to say the least. Listen in your car at your own risk because you'll end up driving 103. This album seems to me to be typical BeauSoleil. They take traditional Cajun and Zydeco songs and sounds and turn them into an art form all their own. Michael Doucet's fiddle and vocal style are manic and expressive. David Doucet's guitar is nothing less than incredible. BeauSoleil's songs always seem to have so much going on all at once. That is not a bad thing because you can hear something different every time you listen. This album is good fun. I dare you to buy it, listen to it, and sit still.
