its funny....: Every time I see "Parsons Ammonia" in the grocery store I think of this album. Good ol' "Alan Parson's Pine Fresh Ammonia Avenue" - that's what we called it when it came out. The music stinks as bad as the chemical. Do yourself a favor - If you're a progressive rock fan, stop at Pyramid. Then start again at Stereotomy. Everything in between was sugar coated sickening pap.
This album is almost wonderfull: My first meeting with this album began, when I didn't know, that song, what I loved was from this album. The video to this song, fell up on my foot ;) for that time I tried to find the album, what contains this song. At the end - I found ! This album is Ammonia Avenue ! But now, I have another dream, and - If You don't mind - I have request of answer for You. I want to search and download "Don't anwer me video to this song, but I don't know where can I find & download it ? If You know and You can help me - please help me, if You can - please veeeeeeeeeeeery much ;) I'll be thankfull for Your any help. At the end of my letter I say (I don't know is this cite has any meaning, but I add this cite) that I live in Warsaw, Poland & I would like to greet every Alan Parsons Project fans on the whole world. :))))))
Their most ambitious if not their best: I brought this album purely for "Don't Answer Me", one of only two hit singles in the UK for APP. The album inspired me to dig deeper into APP's back catalogue, and they've certainly released more memorable records than this. However, there is more to this album than "Don't Answer Me". "Prime Time" could easily have been a massive hit had it not been completely ignored by the radio. "Pipeline" is a classic APP instrumental, cinematic in an almost technicolour way. However, the real standout track on this album is "You Don't Believe", with Lenny Zakatek's passionate vocal, and a techno-esque feel. Not in the same class as "I, Robot", "Eye In The Sky" or "The Turn of a Friendly Card" perhaps, but, all the same, this is still well worth a listen.
Prime Time's Prime, the others lacking something: Track 1 "Prime Time" is the undoubted best with Woolfson and the melodic keys and beat much like earlier Parson's songs. The others are just okay. Don't answer Me is a Pop song and I don't care for it. Buy the "Definitive Collection" instead of this albumn.
