beautiful stuff.:
this album is truly beautiful. . . the reprise of last train to christmas is a gorgeous song to listen to, no matter what mood you are in, and if you like boss nova, you'll love this.
a lovely CD:
I've heard this CD about 5 times at the Spider House Coffee House in Austin, Texas, where it seems to be very popular with the counter help. This is, simply put, one of the loveliest CDs I've heard in a long time. Beautiful music, lovely voices.
Los Cincos:
One word: Inspiring. Oh yeah and: Beautiful. This album is perfect. I haven't actually heard all of it, but my friend is part of Los Cincos, and since I heard his contributed track to a compilaion in tribute to a musician, Jandek, I couldn't stop getting his music from various bands he has been in. He sent me a CD-R with a bunch of his music, and of these nice pieces, one realy caught my eye, and that was "Winter Cave", a track from this album I am reviewing. His music has beautiful lyrics, and nice acoustic backround for enjoyment around the fire.
Belongs on my top ten pop releases for 1998:
great harmonies and bossa nova influences. If you like bands like Adventures in Stereo or the High Llamas, then you'll love this recording.
