[.ca] Carole Bayer Sager

sit back relax and reminisce:
i love this album,i would listen to it in the late 70's.it belonged to my brother and when he left home it went with him.i was only a teenager then.i came across the album about 10 yrs ago and bought it, the memories it brought back and the feelings, great.its uncomplicated it has no hidden agenda its just about life ,and we've all been there.

You've Gotta Put Yourself Back In That Spot:
If you are familiar with this album, then you know it will carry you back to an uncomfortable young stage of your life where you thought you knew a lot, but you actually did not. There was someone you wanted to meet, but you were as shy as a violet. Later, after you managed to forge a relationship with that person, something (developing wisdom?) told you it really might be best to leave while you're in love, before you forget the meaning of the word -- and after things cratered, you seriously entertained thoughts of being dumb enough to steal away again. If you were that age when you first heard it, you know it's a tear-jerker left over from those times that were so tender and meaningless, though heavy with the potential for romantic errors and worse. Save up the \o$$$\cand buy it, as an anthem to the relief of having all that inexperience behind you. Lessons learned.

Soundtrack of my life:
I've been listening to this "album" since it was first released in the 70's. I keep taping it and wearing out the tapes. It'll be good to have it on CD, however, I'll wait until the price comes down.

Down memory lane:
While the composer really can't sing all that well, it really doesn't matter. The album features some great tunes Bayer Sager wrote way back when, and it's interesting to hear her take on those tunes; it's also fun to hear the later luminaries who assist on the some of the tracks: Peter Allen, Melissa Manchester, Bette Midler. My particular favorite, because of its nutty lyrics, is "You're Moving Out Today." I have always loved this song; it's just too crazy not to love. As well, there's the touching "Come in From the Rain," and "I'd Rather Leave While I'm In Love." The charts take you right back to the 70s; they are so typical of the musical arrangements of the era. All in all, it's a nice trip back into the past.

Doesn't Get Any Better:
This album is the best. Please buy it so Carole can get more royalties and maintain her lifestyle.
