WHEN HEAVY METAL WAS MORE THEN SCREAMING: Not a weak song on this disc. Schenker as noted by just about all other reviewers, is nothing short of phenominal. My only complaint is the drummer was adequate at best. Great disc during a great era for rock and roll.
UFO stands for unknown, forgotten and overlooked: I recently lent this to a friend of mine who likes hard rockin bands. He had never heard of it. Now it's one of his favorites. This album doesn't have a bad song on it and is a relatively unkown classic. The guitar player is truly a maestro. Dare I say, much better than some other well known guitar players. Perfect tone and execution. However, the writing is an equal star on this record.
The first big step up: As UFO albums go, Phenomenon is only an average release, but based on the previous hippy trip albums that the group had produced, it deserves high praise indeed. Overall an enjoyable group of songs with two legitimate classics in Doctor, Doctor and Rock Bottom, songs that belong on any self respecting UFO Best Of collection.
AWESOME!!!: This was UFO at their best, this is their "total album" every song on here is excellent. Ya dont skip through or past ANYTHING on this CD. One of the best classic rock cd's i own , listened to regularly and the biggest reason this underated rated band is one of my top five favorite bands..and now they have jason bonham and vinnie moore in the band(with/ mogg/way/raymond) and are touring USA march/april 2004..i have my tickets to 3 shows.GO SUPPORT THEM, these guys deserve better from U.S.Fans..
