This sucks: With the exception of track 2, "Never Say Die (Iron Eagle)" the rest of this album is pathetic.
Missing a Few...: I did like this album, but also wish it was made more complete. Along with the other two songs mentioned in previous reviews I would like "We're not Gonna Take it" by Twisted Sister (the moment he decides to take action) to be added. It's the whole feeling of a soundtrack that makes it good, and this soundtrack is incomplete without those three songs.
Iron Eagle is great...: What a soundtrack, though not as good as Top Gun, has its own songs, Queen, especially with One Vision, then a Katrina and the Waves MANIAC House, not as good as Walking on Sunshine, Most of it is a blend between stuff you can rock to, or sappy, Urgent's Love can make you cry, Eric Martin , These are the Good Times, anyway, all around is another 80's soundtrack, either love it, like it or completely hate it...
Great soundtrack However: I have owned this soundtrack several times once on tape and twice on cd (well now 3 times). This is a great soundtrack that features 10 songs but when I saw the credits at the end of the film there were 17 songs so there are 7 songs missing from this soundtrack lets take a look shall we 1.Eyes of the World Eric Martin playing when Doug and Chappy take the plane for some shooting exercises 2.Old enough to rock n roll Rainey Haynes played during the race between Doug and Notcher I think its a woman singing this song and not a man one of the best songs in the movie and it isn't on the soundtrack dam 3.Reggie's Theme not such who performed this I think it was used in the movie at the dance when Reggie and his date were doing those funky moves :) 4.There was a time James Brown played during the scene Chappy hits the jukebox (the way the Fonz does in Happy Days) and starts planning the rescue with Doug 5.Gimmie some Lovin Spencer Davis group played after Chappy goes down and Doug declares "This one's for you Chappy" 6.We're not gonna take it played during the scene(s) were the kids gather all the info Doug needs for his "mission" 7.Proud Mary Ike and Tina Turner played when all the kids are at Chappy's thats all I remember about that song. Another thing Where the hell is Basil Poledouris fantastic score I have heard it was released on a crappy bootleg boo! Here is what the record company should/NEEDS to do since its just about the 20th anniversary of the film I would like to see a remastered fully restored soundtrack with ALL 17 songs amd that great score from Basil Pooledouris This could be a 2 or 3 cd set. My guess as to why the missing songs were not included maybe because the company couldn't get the rights for the songs or perhaps couldn't settle on agreements for royalties to be paid to each performer/songwriter(s). I hope that they do re-release this complete and with score soon.
Chappy's Dance Music: Where to begin, when I saw this movie for the first time I just feel in love with Chappy. I have yet to see a movie that even comes close to the quality that this movie embodies. If Chappy were a real person I would marry him and have a life of action and romance in his jet, going really fast all over the world and blowing stuff up. I am not sure if Chappy should be hanging out with little boy though, that could be bad. You know what they say "16 will get you 20". You just have to watch this film, you too will be swept away by the passion that Chappy exudes. If I had a chance to save my daddy from the bad guys I would want Chappy by my side, if not sitting on his lap in the cockpit of his jet.
