[.ca] Enema Of The State

From Amazon.co.uk:
On their 1997 release, Dude Ranch, juvenile hardcore-pop band Blink 182 tickled the funny bone with an assortment of dumb sex jokes, off-colour artwork and between-song skits, including one of a dog drinking from a freshly peed in toilet. So, two years down the road, have the band matured at all? One look at the cover of Enema Of The State, which features cover art of a tarted-up blonde nurse donning a rubber glove, provides the easy answer. Fortunately, Enema supports the humour with strong musicianship. The songs are more dynamic than those on Dude Ranch, sounding like a cross between the Descendents and Fountains of Wayne. And unlike the glut of alt-rock releases that offer one or two memorable songs, Enema is flush with instantly memorable melodies and ear-pleasing harmonies. Good, dirty fun--no more, no less. --Jon Wiederhorn

Blink 182 Is A Ween:
This album sucks, Blink 182's weiners are small.

awesome:
ok...first off what's up with all these reviews saying how blink 182 are posers and fakes and all that crap? i agree, they're not "punk" but they're pretty damn close. anyone who's into awesome guitar riffs and a mixture of fun, humorous and \osometimes\c thoughtful lyrics will enjoy this album. Dumpweed -- enjoy songs that get stuck in your head for days and days? this song is for you 8/10 Don't leave me -- love the intro. the rest of the song is great too 8.5/10 Aliens exist -- amazing 10/10 Going away to college -- see previous comment What's my age again? -- great song but overplayed 9/10 Dysentary Gary -- hilarious. love the chorus 8.5/10 Adam's song -- one of the most well-known blink songs. it shows a more thoughtful side of blink 9/10 All the small things -- good song, overplayed. they perform this one very well. 9/10 The Paryt Song -- you can't understand a single word mark says until the chorus but its cool nonetheless 8/10 Mutt -- the only song i don't like 2/10 Wendy Clear -- pretty good 8/10 Anthem -- good song but part 2 is better 8/10 thats my 2 cents worth. this album is outstanding work and anybody that says that it sucks and blink 182 sucks...well..FYOU

Inspirational.:
I absolutly adore this record. Its one of my all time favorites and made Blink-182 my all time favorite alongside Green Day and the Goo Goo Dolls. This whole album is catchy from start to end. Yes, these are guys in their mid 20's singing about teenage drama, but its a very fun album. I love each track, here's the rundown. 1. 'Dumpweed' - A good, fast, upbeat song about wanting a girl you can 'train'. Its really funny some of Blink's lyrics. 2. 'Don't Leave Me' - Bascially the title speaks for the song. Another upbeat, fast song. 3. 'Aliens Exist' - Everybody knows Tom is a huge alien geek, and this song is sort of a 'shot' to the Majestic-12 that aliens exist. One of my favorites. 4. 'Going Away To College' - Defiently another of my favorites. I love the chorus and the lyrics. "I haven't been this scared in a long time, and i'm so unprepared so heres my valentine, a boquet of clumsy words, a simple melody. This world's an ugly place, but you're so beautiful to me." 5. 'What's My Age Again?' - The first single off their record. Everybody knows it. Im not saying nothing. 6. 'Dysentery Gary' - I didn't really like this song at first, but i totally love it now. Another upbeat fast song. 7. 'Adam's Song' - Third single and possibly one of my favorite all time Blink-182 song. Its the only 'slow' song on the album. Its about being tour and missing home. It was one of the first songs i've ever learnt on guitar. 8. 'All The Small Things' - This and the video propelled them to stardom. Good song. 9. 'The Party Song' - A very fast paced song. It's so fast that its too fast for Mark to sing live, so that's why they never play it. It's about some girls trying too hard. 10. 'Mutt' - Another fast song, just like the rest of the album. Its about a friend of thiers who always going out to get laid. 11. 'Wendy Clear' - This song is about wishing things werent so bad. Lyrics explains all. 12. 'Anthem' - The first track is basically like all the song on the album: Fast paced and upbeat. One of my favorite songs. I really like the lyrics for this song alot. And it's true, "Mom and dad posses the key (to) instant slavery" Overall, one of my all time favorite albums and a break through to the pop punk genre. Each song ends in and around 3 minutes, but defiently a must buy for all pop punk fans. Most likely, everybody has got it.

Great CD, start of the new blink.:
This is a great cd! But it isnt like their older stuff. Their older stuff was more punk-like. But this cd leans towards a more pop-rock like. This cd is what made them HUGE. It has such great songs as Adams Song, Aliens Exist, Whats My Age Again, Dupweedl, and of course All the Small Things. Although it is a new Blink 182 style it is still blink. I love this cd just as much as their older stuff. Overall its a great cd.
