[.ca] Screamin' for My Supper

From Amazon.com:
The late '90s spawned a spate of assertive female rockers. Few, however, possess the edgy passion, blues-drenched soul, and whisky-soaked inflections that are Beth Hart's trademarks. Less rough-hewn and more accessible than her 1995 debut, Screamin' for My Supper is nonetheless an emotional and memorable offering from this L.A. native. Hart's vibe--sort of a Fiona Apple meets Mick Jagger, with a liberal dose of Janis Joplin--somehow manages to be her own, while her thoughtful lyrics have a Southern sensibility that touches the heart and soul. This assertive yet fragile new artist, whose songs are as well constructed and executed as her words, could easily share a bill with Sheryl Crow or the Black Crowes, and might wind up stealing the show. -Katherine Turman

absolutely awesome:
I just discovered this incredible talent and am afraid I'll wear holes in the CD. A rare mix of Janis Joplin and Melissa Etheridge but she's way less tame! So much raw emotion and great lyrics. I anxiously await the next CD and a chance to see her perform live. Buy this CD- it'll knock your socks off! She's unique.

There's no comparing...........:
Take Melissa Ethridge, Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, merge the voices and you've got Beth Hart. I have never heard her on the radio and I didn't see her when she was on Star Search... I discovered her by accident while shopping for a CD Christmas present last year and now think she may be the best female rock-and-roll (with a lot of Blues) voice I've ever heard. And this isn't a great voice that's just never found the right song. Delicious Surprise, LA Song and Hold Me Through the Night (from the CD Immortal) are GREAT songs that just haven't had the play time on the radio for her to be discovered....It's a tragedy and just shows how fickled the music industry is....Wake up world!!!!! This is a great singer that deserves success...

THANK YOU BETH!!:
Beth Hart sings from her soul... She is helping so much to remind me of who I used to be and hopefully still am... All the wild things about myself that I have suppressed over the years are all coming back to me... Thanks Beth!

IF ITS THE END OF THE WORLD TOMORROW, BUY THIS CD TODAY!:
I have an enormous cd collection and a wide range of musical tastes. Out of over the 1,000 cd albums I own, NO-ONE has yet to touch Beth Hart....infact not by miles. Both Screaming for my Supper, and indeed her debut album Immortal are cracking cds. The latest offering being the strongest and more powerful. There isn't a duff track in sight actually. All tracks will have you saying to yourself "Oh my god, i'm so exited, I can't wait to play this to my friends"!! The musicians too are truly amazing. I don't honestly believe anything will touch this album...unless her (hopefully) 3rd can prove me wrong.....Like I said, if the world ends tomorrow, be sure to buy this cd today, cos boy you'll die a happy bunny!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CD TO EVERYONE!!

Awesome:
What an awesome voice, what raw and honest lyrics. Straight from the heart. The best record of the year and in the Top 10 for the decade.
