this is as bad as the band A.C.: Just damn! I've been a Rush fan for years and this is embarassing. I am also a fan of death metal. So I was a little curious. What a disaster. To me it sounds like these bands are mocking Rush. It's sort of an insult. There were 2 bands, Prototype, and Premonition, that sounded okay. They sing. They don't have the death metal growling vocals. They did the songs Red Barchetta and The Spirit Of Radio. But it's not worth the money just for those 2 bands. The rest of the cd is horrible. These bands should have done an A.C. Tribute instead. Most of the time, tributes are a joke anyway, and especially with Rush, you're better off with the real thing, but you just MUST have a Rush tribute cd, get Working Man instead. There's plenty of talented musicians on that cd, such as Billy Sheehan, James Murphy, Devin Townsend, Deen Castronovo, members of Shadow Gallery, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, and stuff like that. There's only one winner for a Rush tribute. WORKING MAN! Not Red Star!
Wonderful!: I've been a Rush fan since 1975. I know all the words, all the bass lines, half the guitar lines and a third of the drum rhythms. I've been known to chop up Rush for years and it can only be described as GOOD CLEAN FUN!!!Death metal has never been my genre, but this album is a blast to CRANK UP in the car at a stoplight and no one ( metalheads included) knows wtf you're playin. It's rush songs folks...they are by design and nature great works of art no matter what tincan you are banging on to express them. How many times have you sang Rush while in the shower? or tapped out 2112 on your school desk? I'm sure no one around you appreiated it too much but did you care??? HECK NO!!! Rush is a revolution and true believers will scream it from the highest mountain the best way they know how. A fun cultureshock for y'all will be Exit..Stage Right , a String Quartet Tribute CD ( they even have YYZ!!) add these two to your Rush collection and have fun with yet another way to experience that which IS RUSH!! Dont worry about these guys trashin Rush, it can't be done! Besides, Rush makes 'em sound GOOD. So turn it UP and lets ALL enjoy what Rush is capable of! Rock On!!!
Throw up: is what I want to do hearing this utter garbage. These bunch of amateur brats are attempting to cover some of the greatest music of all time with their hokey, fake-Metallica style. Think of the worst local metal band you have ever heard (oh they are bad), then multiply that by 10. This is worse!!! Please don't even think about buying this album.
Garbage, Disgusting, Trash, Insulting, Refuse, Excrement: Some adjectives to put this effing trash in perspective. These guys are an embarassment to themselves and the music of Rush. If you like this fecal matter, you are NOT a Rush fan.
Better than Rush in my opinion.: In my opinion, This is better than Rush. The reason is only because I don't like Geddys' voice. That's why I like this cd so much, it don't have Geddys' voice in it. Yeah, it don't sound much like Rush and it's not supposed to. It's only to show that Rush has inspired many other people to form a band and play. There is no tribute taht I know of that sounds exactly like the original. I think that would be boring. What would be the point in making it if the bands make it sound exactly the same.
