[.ca] Blackout!

From Amazon.com:
If you love energetic beats coupled with explosive lyrical content then Blackout! is your album. This highly anticipated effort features the combined powers of the Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man and the Def Squad's Redman--it's 19 cuts of pure excitement. Production highlights include the RZA-produced "Cereal Killer," Erick Sermon's "Maad Crew," and the dark-and-dirty sounds of "Run 4 Cover," featuring the Wu's Ghostface Killah and Streetlife. The album remains focused throughout without trying to appeal to any specific audience. Lyrically Red and Meth consistently come with the best in wit and wordplay, weaving a musical tapestry that should hang on the wall of any hip-hop fan. You won't find any specific messages, themes, or philosophies, but any true head will tell you that Blackout! is hip-hop at its best. --Kenji Jasper

Chronique amazon.fr:

This a 5 Stars Nearly Classic Album!:
I'm really too late to get this album, Sometime I blame myself too, First of all, I'm a quite big fans of Mr. Meth! I love his Voice, his Flow and his Style! He's one of my favorite Rapper from Wu Tang, no doubt! and I really love Funk Doc too, because this guy is just as crazy as Meth Tical for me, haha! I still believe they're the perfect duo in hip hop history! I'm not mean they create the best music, but they mix perfectly! Anyway, This album is TIGHT!!! Both Rapper is at their Best, Spit fire, Raw lyrics and real as hell! No Commercial RnB Hip Pop stuff, just str8 Hip Hop I highly recommend this to all rap fans! And this is a must have for Red or Meth Fans! A Special Joint - Just an Intro Blackout - The Beat is Nice, Very Nice Opening track! 4.5/5 Mi Casa - Banging Beat! 5/5 Y.O.U. - Wow~ This Beat sound crazy! Meth and Docta is so Nasty and Hot in here! 5/5 4 Seasons - Another Nice Beat, feat. LL Cool J and Ja Rule, LL Cool J is alright, since his 4,3,2,1 feat. Red and Meth too, But I got problem for Ja, Why he's here? He's probably the worst one in here! 4.5/5 Cereal Killer - Rza Produce this song, Hmm..... Rza totally lost his Old Wu Tang Style, but this beat is DOPE! a Dope Song! 5/5 Da Rockwilder - This song is Crazy! Very Nice uptempo, Meth is Mad in here, He bust an amazing verse and prove himself is a dope rapper, He just simply give you one more reason to love him, Redman is fine but Meth is far too incredible!!! only complain is it's too Short, anyway, IT'S MAD NICE AND DOPE! 5/5 Tear It Off - Rap Rock sounding Beat, I always don't like this kind of Beat, I'm a fans of rock and metal too, don't get wrong, but I just don't like rap and Rock mix together! But this one sound very nice for me! 4.5/5 Where We At - Skit 1,2,1,2 - The Beat is fine too, Another Great Song! 4.5/5 Maaad Crew - one of the sound more melodic beat in here, Not Bad! 4/5 Run 4 Cover - Feat. Ghostface and Street, Both is Nice in here! The beat maybe sound so repeative and agony, quite suffering for me to here the whole song! 3/5 The ? - 4/5 Dat's Dat S**t - 4/5 Cheka - Hmm.... This one sound quite Funky, Kinda Sweet! 4.5/5 Fire Ina Hole - 4/5 Well All Rite Cha - The beat is in the vein of Y.O.U., but Y.O.U. is Better 4/5 Big Dogs - 3.5/5 How High Remix - This album end with a Nice Song! 4.5/5

Strikeout:
This album was so predictable its not even funny. Let's see, Erick Sermon beats, with funny, yet pointless rapping and feauturing some of the biggest (most commercial) names in hip-hop... Right on point. Congradulations on disappointing again. THese two rappers could be placed among the top 5 alive yet they cant drop an album worth a penny whether it be solo or combined. I love Meth and Red, I really do, but too many people WANTED this album to be good and are running from the truth that it is NOT GOOD. Stay away from this generic hip-hop album. Pllleeeeease Red and Meth, do some good with your skills. Pz.

Hardcore rap thats good even for people who hate rap:
Indeed. I do not like rap music much at all. When this album was given to me as a present in my mind i said.. "Oh lord" and all the rap cliches ran through my head "i f***** this b****, and i got the bling bling"..... I almost threw it away in their face. But i restrained, and even better, listened to it front to back. It seemed that the almighty god himself turned my head... I could not bleieve my ears.... Rap music that sounds good? How is this possible? I would consider this one of the sigle strongest cd's in my collection of strong cd's..... and the only rap cd i own.... Make no mistake... i listened to many many albums after this perticular one that did not involve these two artists.... and they all were as i figured rap to be.... this is THE gem of rap music. Top 50 albums of all time....... this makes it...... I dont know about all that "keeping it real" crap some of the true rap fans talk about.... but if this doesnt have it.... it doesnt need it.... it needs nothing.... except to be in your collection

Amazing!:
Methodman & Redman are plain incredible in their solo projects, but when brought together they surpass even the above average quality of their separate work. They fit toghether really great and spit original and energetic rhymes. There isn't but one track on this album that I could label "trash"; all of them are very enjoyable and entertaining, the rapping skills of both artists are incredible. There are no needless skits (in fact there is only one plus the intro, but that is merely all). This is, I would easily say, an essential rap album and it truly deserves its 5 stars.
