Nicely Remastered Anthology from U.K.'s The Babys!:
I always liked this group from day one! John Waite has an excellent voice and it didin't surprise me that he was successful as a solo artist in the 80's. The Baby's put out excellent ballads such as "Isn't It Time" and "Everytime I think of You" (both big hits) as well as great rock n' roll. Songs such as "Head First", "Love Don't Prove I'm Right", and "Back On My Feet Again" (to mention a few) are extremely catchy and very radio friendly. The Baby's (in my opinion) never really made it as big as they should have, but atleast they left us with some great songs and a nice collection of l.p.'s as well. Highly Recommended!

Isn't it ABOUT time???????:
I had given up hope on this CD. I had stopped checking the bin after about 10 years of frivolously wishing to hear these top-notch tunes like they should be heard. In short, I'VE BEEN WAITING 15 YEARS FOR THIS CD TO BE RELEASED!!!! There's been a few major gaffes in the world of artist compilations...one being the incredibly ill-advised inclusion of CUT Supertramp songs on the A & M 75th Anniversary disc ("Goodbye Stranger" sliced and diced anyone?). However, none tops the incredibly shoddy original run of this CD released in around 1987. Sounding like Journey's early material (a la recorded on Pluto), I knew it had to get better with the quality of their production team--Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd), Ron Nevison (Heart), Keith Olson (Fleetwood Mac)? A-1 Producers. It had to get better. Finally, it did. You mean "Isn't it Time" has horns panning out to each channel in the chorus? "Everytime I Think of You" actually has Vibes? Tambourine? An organ finale? All of that was buried under the original horrendous mastering job. I didn't even know Chrysalis was \osigned\c up by Capitol in recent times, but thank the stars it was! Thanks to that, possibly the two top songs EVER (IMHO) now sound better than I ever thought they would. I may even let this regular CD share time with the new Aaron Neville DVD-AUDIO disc (a knockout in its own right!) ;). I have just one more question: Who the heck is (Jack) Conrad and (Ray) Kennedy...and are they aware (IMHO) they wrote two of the best songs of ALL TIME??????

Bigger and Better:
Seven more tracks, and all are remastered--that makes this collection even more appealing! John Waite has a great voice, although it has been squandered at times on mediocre material throughout his solo career. Not here, however. The band's brief heyday was from 1978 or so until 1981, and their sound combines the power pop of fellow Chrysalis artists with a sweet touch--especially once future Journey keyboardist Johnathan Cain was on board. The lyrics are cliched at times and the ballads lean toward sappy on occasion, but "Every Time I Think Of You" and "Isn't It Time" are classy songs and still hold up quite well on classic rock radio. Likewise, rockers like "Head First," "Back On My Feet Again" and "Midnight Rendevous" are mindless fun and sound great in the car. A great deal at this price.

Babys Anthology review:
This brought me back to my teens - what a great compilation of songs!

Anthology:
Great compilation, great memories, but how could they possibly leave "A Piece of the Action" off of the the Anthology CD?
