From Amazon.com: New Orleans and Atlanta both have mega-cliques holding down their local rap reputations. Well, Memphis, Tennessee, has one too. The Hypnotize Minds label, home of the Three 6 Mafia, has been wreaking havoc on local dancefloors (with tracks like the Mafia's 1996 underground smash, "Tear Da Club Up") since 1993. Veterans of lyrical disorder, this group is well known for its slasher-flick lyrical content (cartoon violence, misogyny). When the Smoke Clears is infested with the Mafia's signature horror-core lyrics, but producers Juicy J and DJ Paul's beats show a growth in individuality. Their intoxicating first single, "Sippin' on Some Syrup," (featuring Texas's UGK) is 2000's Funky Cold Medina, though the Three 6 video isn't as funny as Tone Loc's. There are several other potential hits on the album, including "I'm So High" and "Where da Cheese At." An appropriate collaboration with twisted brothers-from-another-mother Insane Clown Posse also adds to the mayhem. But unfortunately, at 22 tracks, this deviant Dirty South album overstays its welcome. --Vanessa Satten

not the best from three 6: 44 killers is a bangin intro song, juicy j rips it up on weak ass bitch, sippin on some syrup is perfect 4 chillin, act like u know me is bangin all members bring it, my second favorite song on here, i'm so hi is more of a song to listen to while ur high instead of while ur gettin high and is hot, who run it is a straight up ridin/club song and my favorite on here.the rest of the songs ain't bad i just don't listen to em but definitely worth the $$. memphis 10 runnin thangs always and 4 eva.
lil larry: Three six mafia went off on this album. This is really the best one.But they shouldnt have got rid of koop, boo, trock, kaze, indog, andskinny ppimp.
This is my favorite cd ever: Either you like 3-6 or you don't. If you like 3-6 then this a must have cd. Every song on this cd is good, all the rappers flow well off of each other. Next time you buy a cd check this one out. Hypnotize Minds will always be the best rap label; all of their cd's are well worth buying.
Man if you real. You Dig: Man that Cd off the hook and you know it Man..........
