[.ca] Love & Basketball

From Amazon.com:
The coming-of-age angle in the sports romance movie Love & Basketball is played up by this sharp soundtrack album. The music ranges from Al Green's eternal "Love and Happiness" to galvanizing late-'80s rap classics (Rob Base's "It Takes Two," MC Lyte's "Lyte as a Rock") to some of the best new-school R & B. Angie Stone takes Simply Red's calling card "Holding Back the Years" to church and then back to her softly lit pad, while alt hip-hoppers Black Eyed Peas team with Les Nubians for the atmospheric "Complete Beloved." The disc also boasts the welcome return of ex-Tony! Toni! Tone! frontman Raphael Saadiq with his new partners Dawn Robinson (formerly of En Vogue) and one-time Tribe Called Quest member Ali Shaheed Muhammad in the band Lucy Pearl. Their "Dance Tonight" is a spirited jam that no doubt plays well in the movie--and definitely does out of it. --Rickey Wright

What I thought as a teen...:
Well in order to have a good soundtrack, has to be based and written with a good movie. When I saw the actually video I had to absoultely get the music. If i were you i would buy the CD and share it with somebody special for that special occasion. It's a great CD to have and to own...but its better if you had the movie to go with it.

Love & Basketball:
This is an excellent soundtrack! As I listened the disc easily took me back & forth from past to present with new artists and music mixed with a good balance of "ol skool joints". Sometimes soundtracks add songs that had absolutely nothing to do with the movie, but not this one - every song on the disc was in the movie. The standout song to me is "Fool of Me" by MeShell Ndegeocello and let me tell you, I searched high and low for this cd before finally finding the last copy in a record store JUST FOR THIS SONG!

Yes, It's still in my stereo!:
What can i say?! I have had this CD for about 3 months now and it still hasn't made its way back to my CD rack yet! For me?! - what an achievment! The soundtrack to this film is amazing and there are no other words to describe it! Although it was a long wait for the soundtrack i had earlier invested in the Maxwell - Now album after sorrily finding out that the best song was not on it! This is great variation of brilliant tracks my favourites being "You made a fool of me" and "I like". If you enjoyed the film i recomemend you buy this CD, just make sure the other CD's realise first they'll be neglected for a while!

Like a star bright in the sky:
I really like this movie because of what it contain. The conflicts between monica and q are so real, I also like tha fact that the director realated this movie to basketball. I'm a basketball player and I love how it all turn out. Sanna is my favorite actress of them all, and I love all her movies she as done and will do in the furture.

Jayebyrd's Review:
Sanaa Latham is one of my favorite female actress. She doesn't get the credit that she deserves. Love And Basketball is one of many of my favorite movies that she star in. I am a 24 year old young lady that she inspire alot. Good Luck on your career. Remember if you never have any other fan out there you will always have me. Love Always Ja'Toyai S. Nixon!
