Weakest studio effort from their heyday:
This was JA's final and weakest studio effort from their original run, until the 1989 reunion album, which is really weak. The standout track is Jorma's "Trial By Fire", which became a performance staple of Hot Tuna. The Kantner and Slick tunes carry their trademark sound, and hints at what was to become the Starship sound, with Papa John Creach onboard to add his fiddle pyrotechnics. However, the compositions are not as memorable or compelling as most of their previous work. Worthwhile for devoted fans, but expectations should be restrained.
