After a long winter of discontent, So Addictive sees Missy hoping to initiate hip-hop's summer of love. Miss E's third album is dosed with feel-good flavour and has more guests than the VIP section of the hippest hip-hop hot spot. Buddies Method Man and Redman bark across the bridge of "Dog In Heat"'s canine funk. Jay-Z and Ludacris feature on two different versions of "One Minute Man"'s scathing soul. Synths tweak and creak in rhythm as Missy unleashes a dreamy diss of those hopeless suitors who unload their cargo before they've sparked her ignition. "Take Me Away" features Pony man Ginuwine on a hypnotic slow burner heavily reminiscent of Art Of Noise's "Moments in Love". Lil Mo, Busta Rhymes and Da Brat appear elsewhere. When she is left to her own devices, as she is on "Lick Shots" (which jangles like Django Rheinhardt on downers), Missy comes on like Schooly D, a fearless, female gangsta licking shots across the brow of those who dare cross her. On "Scream" she breaks into a soprano. A four-four stomp is stamped indelibly across the ecstasy-holler song "4 My People" (featuring Eve). Overall, it feels as if Timbaland has muted his experimental leanings on this outing with his favourite muse in favour of submersible club tracks. Musically, the bhangra-beat bop of "Get Ur Freak On" is the stand out. The spiral timing of "Whatcha Gon Do", the fret-skipping "Slap! Slap Slap!" (featuring Da Brat) and the sunken, drunken funk of the not-so-subtle X-hex "Xtasy" are tied at a close second. --Chris Campion

Missy Elliot has done it again with her newest release, "So Addictive."!!! After listening to the tracks on her new CD the usage of orginial beat and rhythms is mind bottling and confirms that 2001 is the year of new era music. All listeners of this CD can but only agree that her album title "So Addictive," speaks for itself.

Old School Joint:
Old School Joint is the best track by far! Buy it if only for this!! As an album, its pretty good - but not as good as her debut release.

This is my first Missy E. album, and I'm happy with it. Great tracks like "One Minute Man". But the best one so far: 4 My Peopel, (feat. Eve) Sure to be the best one on the album. Great beats, great rhythm.
