Acteur et metteur en scène brillant, Clint Eastwood est également un auteur qui a toujours su s'entourer des meilleurs compositeurs du moment. Music From The Movies Of Clint Eastwood en est l'exemple parfait. L'album s'ouvre avec la série Rawhidede Dimitri Tiomkin, puis par le célèbre cri du coyote sublimé par Ennio Morricone sur Le Bon, la Brute et le Truand. Les années 70 ne sont pas en reste avec des extraits de L'Inspecteur Harry - "Theme From Dirty Harry" - de Lalo Schifrin ou de Josey Wales hors la loi. Quelques petits bijoux des années 80 parsèment également cette compilation, "Amanda's Theme" de La Corde raide en tête. La première partie de l'album conclut avec les récentes collaborations de Clint Eastwood avec Lennie Niehaus, dont Space CowBoys et le très émouvant Sur la route de Madison. Mais, l'attrait principal de Music From The Movies Of Clint Eastwood vient de la seconde partie intitulée "An American Filmmaker Suite" où l'on retrouve les musiques composées par Clint Eastwood en personne, aidé par son complice habituel : Lennie Niehaus. Il en résulte une formidable suite à l'accent jazzy, tantôt irrévérencieuse, tantôt conformiste. Une expérience en tout cas unique, et qui s'achève sur le bien nommé "I Love Jazz". Intriguant, intéressant et finalement captivant. --Didier Leprêtre

There's really not too much to say about this, except that any big fan of "Clint Eastwood", or at least the majority of these movies should like this. What I enjoy most are the tracks from his westerns, as they all set a nice mood, but the rest are very good as well. I can't help but think this would have been twice as good had it contained dialogue from each of these films too. Overall a great collection for the fan. After all, if there's one thing "Clint" knows about as much as his acting, it's his music.
