Pure Gold!: This is without a doubt the best EP of 2001. After buying What It Is To Burn I was tempted to check out this EP, and after a while I finally decided to go and buy it (it's only 7 or 8 bucks). I can honestly say it was worth every penny. 1. Perfection Through Silence (4/5): This seems like a great fit to start off the EP. However, I feel it is the weak point of the EP, it just seems too average compared to the other songs... 2. Letters To You (6/5): This song alone is worth the 8 bucks. The version on the EP is better than the version of What It Is to Burn...which \ois also great\c...I just can't say enough about this song, it is just that good. 3. Waiting (5/5): I can't believe this song didn't get onto What It Is To Burn, with the exception of Letters To You, it is clearly the best song on the EP. This song has been blasted over my stereo many times. 4. New Kid (4.5/5): This song grew on me a bit, when I first heard it, I didn't like it too much, but after listening to it a few times it truly has grown on me. This song reminds me on Ender on What It Is To Burn, this is the closest to a slow song Finch can get, if you like Ender you will like this song. Well, what are you waiting for....go buy this EP!!!
Punk Perfection: This album absolutely rocks!!!!! Nate is so hott and has an amazing voice......they really know how to rock. Every song on this cd is great. track 7 (without you here) is awesome, along with letters to you and stay with me. if you like punk/heavy rock, this album is the perfect choice. If you like finch, you should check out taking back sunday and the used. to every one out there; buy this album, you won't regret it....nate ur so hott~!!!!!!.....
Not needed: Okey, this album is one of those that you do not have to buy because the only two songs that are good are on "what it is to burn." The last two songs on it are "techno" and all synthetic. If you like synthetic music with drum machines, by all means, please, take a gander, or you are just one of those fans who just "has to have all their CD's." But otherwise you really don't need it.
For an EP this is GREAT!: I have never bought an EP before, but after hearing What It Is to Burn and going to a Finch show, I became a HUGE fan. For a cd that's only 4 songs, it's awesome! Letters to You and Perfection Through Silence are on What It Is to Burn, but they're a little different here, so that wasnt a total waste. Plus, the two songs that are only on this EP, "Waiting" and "New Kid" are excellent. I have to say that "New Kid" is one of my favorite Finch songs though. This song is a masterpiece. Oh hell, BUY THE DAMN THING!
Comparison: Ok. First their name is far from original. Secondly, what has music come to? Everything has become another Linkin Park. Someone told me that they sounded like the Deftones. NEWS FLASH!! Deftones are talented original musiscians, and Finch are unoriginal children with no taste for what's good in music. I feel sorry for the world of music to have to deal with such distaste. I do NOT reccommend spending your valuable dollars on this band, though if you do, beware.
