[.ca] Singing Babies: Nursery Rhymes Time (Widescreen/Full Screen)

From Amazon.com:
Real babies--a bit surreal at times--"sing" classic toddler tunes such as "Old MacDonald," "London Bridge," and "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" in this visually intriguing kiddie flick from cocreators Jeff Yonis and Fred Gallo. Through the magic of computerized slicing and dicing, a culturally diverse batch of bouncing babes seem to mouth each lyric, with a full set of teeth, no less. They wear many adorable costumes, appear on creatively designed sets, and play with colorful toys, and when their faces aren't being digitally manipulated, they even look cute. But the odd and often disturbing special effects will give some viewers the willies. Unlike the talking critters in Babe or Stuart Little, these "singing" babies look moon-eyed and emotionless--not a great combination for a sing-along video. Yonis and Gallo claim all sorts of developmental benefits await the young viewer who watches this 30-minute babypalooza. If that's true, then Barney must be the love child of Lamaze and Pavarotti. At least the music variety and execution are pleasant--well, except for that one kid who's painfully tone deaf. Stick with the cassette tape. --Liane Thomas

great!:
i have to say i found the superimposed moving mouths a little disconcerting but my twins loved, loved, loved to watch this dvd. i would definitely recommend it to anyone with babies up to 18 months.

Very entertaining:
My 10 month old daughter loves to watch other babies/children in dvd's, especially when they're singing. So, after reading all of the positive reviews on this dvd and the other singing babies dvd, I purchased both. Not only was my daughter mesmerized, but my husband and I were as well. The babies actually look like they're singing. I love that they have chosen classic nursery rhymes to sing. I also like the fact that it comes with a cd of the songs so that we can listen to them in the car or her room. I'm glad I found these dvd's, they're fun and different and keep my daughter entertained.

Not for my daughter ...:
I bought both the "Singing Babies" and "Singing Toddlers" in preparation for a seven-hour drive to see grandma. Neither one held my 15-month-old daughter's attention long enough to get out of the driveway. She loves all the "Wiggles" DVDs and can't get enough of "Bear in the Big Blue House" on Disney. I don't think there's enough action to keep her attention.

My boys LOVE it!:
Well, Amazon's own review of this video says it all EXCEPT for one major point...kids LOVE it! My twin 9 month old boys are obsessed with this video. Nothing else holds their attention for more than a few minutes. They will watch this over and over for hours (if I am desperate). They roll right over to their rattles and shake them with the songs. One of my boys is talking and guess what his first word was? "Bay bay" of course. Everytime I put the video on he immediately starts shouting "bay bay" "bay bay". Maybe all those developmental claims are true. In any case, this video is a must!

Captivated my girl from start to finish!:
This DVD is unquestionably my little three year old girl's favorite DVD. She loves the babies and sings along with them. Amazingly, she sings all the lyrics with the babies onscreen. What a great idea!!!
