i saw this film a long time ago, when I was 3 or 4. Of course I didn't know who Ginger rogers was, and the only thing I really remember about her performance is that she puts a lamp shade over her head. well, no wonder I'm not surprised that she brings a smile to my face in all her movies. she's a natural.

DVD Release for Julie Andrews Version:
PBS will release the original Cinderella (1957) with Julie Andrews on the 7th December 2004 on both the DVD and VHS. There is absolutely no one comparable to Julie Andrews and I will definately preorder one. I'm saving the five stars for Julie Andrews.

great musical:
One of the best "Cinderella is great and a wonderful romantic story starring Leslie Ann Warren its for children and adults a must see film.

Is the JULIE ANDREWS Version Available for DVD or NOT???:
I read or heard that the 1957 JULIE ANDREWS version of Cinderella was not saved, but I've just seen lots of scenes from it on a PBS special about Rogers and Hammerstein. And it looked great! Sadly, the 1965 color version with Leslie Ann Warren is not nearly as good. Try listening to the CD with Julie Andrews and then watching the Leslie Ann Warren version. You might agree. Lets have the Julie Andrews version on DVD!!!

Everybody loves Cinderella:
Whether your preference is Julie Andrews, Lesley Ann Warren or Whitney Houston, this is a wonderful musical for any age to watch. Myself, I am 54 years old and prefer the Lesley Ann Warren/Stuart Damon version. I am not a fan of Whitney Houston so I have not watched that version. I have seen the Julie Andrews version and much prefer the Lesley Ann Warren version. Julie Andrews is a wonderful singer and beautiful actress. There are many movies I think nobody could recast the parts that Julie Andrews has played but I think Lesley Ann Warren made a better Cinderella and Stuart Damon was always the Prince of my dreams from the first time I saw this version. I just wish I could buy a CD with the dialogue and the songs from this version. I have the original version on CD but hopefully someday I will be able to buy the second version on CD or find the technology to put the second version on CD from my Video or DVD. I like listening to it as much as watching it.
