Well, I am definitely new to this reviewing thing. But, since nobody has reviewed this cd yet, I felt that it is my duty to do so!! The Rough Guide Series is an excellent guide to discovering new world music. I've never been to Louisiana, but have always dreamed of going there! This cd is one of the reasons why. Look at the rich music heritage that comes from this state. It is the birthplace of Cajun, Zydeco, Blue, Jazz, Gospel, and R & B. This cd includes all of these genres of music. This is not just music of New Orleans, but other cities in the state. Americans out there, this is a great introduction to what comes from this country!! This cd includes the very famous songs, "Iko Iko" and "You Are My Sunshine." The famous Buckwheat Zydeco and Dr. John are featured as well as many names that may be new to you. Learn a little about the music of this Southern state.
