Highly customisable and good work out.: I've had these tapes since last November. I started them during the rainy cold months. I have very little room and really like the fact that the routine is simple/basic and does not require a lot of room. I've never listened them however. I tried and she was a little too chatty, which is fine but I prefer to crank up my stereo and listen to tunes I prefer. So I mute the DVD and listen to my favorite music. I also use 3 pound weights through out the work outs. My arms look great as a result. I've gone from 150 to 132 pounds in 8 months. So the pounds didn't exactly melt away but I've not been too good about dieting either. So this is pretty good considering that. I probably would have lost more if I had been on a diet through out. I also recently started jogging & walking 3 to 4 times a week when the weather is good. But these tapes are a great addition to those workouts. I do the 2 mile dvd 3 to 4 times a week in the mornings. And, when the weather is bad and I can't walk/jog I do the 3 mile dvd in the afternoon. I've recommended these tapes to a few friends but they're not the "work out to fitness video types" and complain about not enough room/complicated moves etc. If I could get them to try these, I'm sure they would like them. I have tons of exercise videos but these are the ones I've done the longest. Because they give a good work out and because they're easy to follow and not boring. I like that they are simple enough that you can follow them without needing to listen to them. I also like that I can customize them by adding the weights earlier than she does and by simply using heavier weights. Also the moves themselves are customizable and easy enough to do. I'm glad I found these fitness videos. They've helped me stay consistent in my workout efforts and helped me lose some weight as well.
Great Workout - All Ages: My 8 year old son and I have started a workout regime and I wanted something that wasn't complicated for him, as well as low impact for myself. This DVD is perfect for us. We love it! I am not particularly fond of the chatter, but it is bright and cheery, so it isn't really a big deal. We love the meter telling us how far we have gone and when we have hit one mile. We plan on starting the two mile workout in a month or so. My son is telling everyone that we walk a mile every morning! Even my girls (5 & 3) get up and move to this disc. What a great way to work out with the kids! It doesn't take too much room so all of us can work out in our livingroom without me constantly telling my kidlets to get out of mommy's way! Anyway, I plan on sticking with this regime, and look forward to going up to two, then three, then even the four mile workouts!
No Brainers Workout: The best No Brainers Workout that exists & that actually works ! I tried this DVD out after getting frustrated with semi-kickboxing / aerobics / pilates exercise videos that I couldn't possibly keep up with since I have two left feet ( very uncoordinated ) , am out of shape & seem to be at least 5 moves behind the fitness instructors in the videos . I was keen to lose at least 9 pounds since I couldn't fit into 4 of my pants anymore - don't you always put on weight especially around the belly & bum area ??!! I had almost given up on exercise videos when someone at work said she had lost a little weight just by walking around her neighbourhood . I can't walk around my neighbourhood at night but I can certainly walk in front of my T.V. in the safety of my lounge room . So I tried Leslie's 1 mile segment once a day for the first 4 days then 2 mile section for 1 day . Meanwhile I also changed my diet by eating less fatty meat dishes & adding more salads to my meals . I lost 4.5 pounds in 5 days which represents 2% of my weight - I was incredibly excited that doing such a simple workout & changing my diet slightly could produce such quick results !! It's taken me three years to get to finally lose some weight and for the first time ever I manage to keep up with all of the moves on this DVD ! Today I noticed my work pants which normally fit just right were falling down slightly & my fellow workers commented that I would now need a belt to keep the pants up ! I highly recommend this Walk Away the Pounds DVD to any one who wants a simple , low impact yet effective exercise program .
I was surprised: I usually cant stick with a workout for a long time i get pretty bored, These actually worked though and they were fun to do. There is enough to keep you interested and the time goes by fast too. This is an excellent choice to stay in shape and lose the weight.
Fun and Easy: Great dvd. Just started the 1 mile & love it! I already have more energy! Can't wait to start the 2 mile!
