Amazon.ca: Were there any justice in the music biz, bands like Treble Charger would be clocking mega sales like the Foo Fighters or fellow countrymen Sum 41. Detox is a forceful pop album that combines punk power with soaring emo-core choruses; it's as good as any rock album out there. The well-crafted, honest songs never sound patronizing and the band easily avoids the clichés that the latest crop of pop-punk purveyors have pinched from Green Day. Perhaps its Treble Charger's age and experience (the band has been putting out albums since the mid 1990s) that accounts for its dynamic ability to sound current without having to resort to musical thievery. This whip-smart four-piece clearly has a soft-spot for bands like Hüsker Dü and Superchunk and vocalist/guitarists Greig Nori and Bill Priddle aren't afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves. The duo are, in fact, Treble Charger's greatest asset, providing an abundance of thick, slashing guitar chords and strong, melodic vocals. The two voices, distinctive and complimentary, create immaculate harmonies that would make Cheap Trick proud--bold, clear and powerful. To single out any single song for praise on this remarkable 11-song CD would be to overlook another equally good track. There's just not a bad--or even mediocre--tune on this CD. If there were any justice, Treble Charger would be topping the charts and Sum 41 would be carrying their equipment for them. --Adem Tepedelen
What The...: How can you say this band isnt amazing, I bought the CD about 2 years ago, and even now i listen to it with a feeling of nostalgia. They have amazing verses, choruses and guitar solo's. The vocalist Greig Nori is amazing, and yes, on Detox, the last couple of songs are a bit off, with a different mood altogether, but no less, this CD is a must-have.
Not: I've been a fan of Treble Charger since hearing Brand New Low on NHL 2002. This album is not bad, only the last song sucks beacause it is very drawn out. Youll enjoy it many times through and its great to see how this band has evolved (they have become more popish) but i must say these new songs are still pretty good. If you like Sum 41 and Gob this is a good band to hear.
Great Album: That moron that says this band sucks and to listen to better music like Sum41 is an idiot, 1st off the lead singer of Treble Charger is Sum41's manager and producer, wouldn't that make Sum 41 suck too?. This cd is great, Treble Charger should be a much bigger band then they are. I can't wait for some new stuff from the band.
GREAT ALBUM: This is their best album to date, too bad they broke up :'( Saw them live when they toured for this album they were amazing live too :) Anyone who likes Sum 41, Gob, Green Day, Social Code, or maybe even Nickelback should check this album out. Best Songs=Hundred Million, Hole In Your Head, Ideal Waste Of Time and Over My Head. \oBTW Sum 41 stole one of their stage acts where they get two people on stage to drink a whole 2L of Ginger Ale during a song :P Saw both bands do it, but saw Treble do it before Sum was even around\c
Canada apologizes: I, on behalf of all Canadian, apologize to any American who had to listen to this nonsense. Treble Charger is perhaps the worst band Canada has ever produced (yes, worse than Sugar Jones). Many in Canada openly their show their hatred of this "band" through pysical violence (at the Juno's - are Grammy's - the band was attacked with hockey sticks). This band sucks, save your money! Listen to a much much better Canadian band - SUM 41!!!!!!
