[.ca] In Full Swing Featuring Wynto

The SACD version kicks butt:
This is a great album of jazz standards done by a hot trio with a vocal assist from young diva, Jane Monheit, whose voice is gorgeous. Wynton Marsalis is along for the ride on several numbers. I had the pleasure of seeing this group live in Feb. at NYC's Lincoln Center. It prompted me to make this purchase. It's a classic. I was able to compare the SACD version against the regular CD, which I bought for a friend. Both are great, but SACD really pulls out the detail.

I am incredibly upset! I have heard parts of this CD on radio and know it is superb, so I was really looking forward to listening to the entire CD. When it got here I opened it right away and went to play it on my up-to-date Dell computer on Windows Audio. Nothing happened. I play my CDs all the time on my computer with no problem. I went downstairs to my other terrific sound system, and again... nothing. I got out the magnifying glass and started scouring the fine print on the back of the jewel case insert to discover, in infinitesimal print, the line that it will only play on Super Audio, whatever that is. It means it won't play on my CD players. I went to the Amazon.ca web site where it was listed and there is nothing there about it not being compatible with most CD players. I have packed it up and returned it with a note to this effect, and I hope Amazon gives me a refund. Even more than that, though, I wish I could listen to it! Frustrated
