Another Incredible Album:
With this incredible CD, David Francey, once again, proves he is a valuable presence on the Canadian and North American Folk music scene. His poignant lyrics and rich melody lines paint a tapestry of imagery and are delivered straight from the heart. Backed up by Geoff Somers on guitar and fiddle and Dave Clarke on guitar, Francey offers the listener glances into everyday Canadian life and the joys and sorrows that come with it. Standout cuts include "Broken Glass", "Grim Cathedral", "Nearly Midnight" and the title track. Dave Clarke's superb fingerpicking on his 1938 Martin D-18 guitar add to the enjoyability of this record, and Francey's voice is in top form. A worthy album that stands up with his debut album "Torn Screen Door" and his juno award winning "Far End of Summer" CD.
