The Bollywood E.T.: This movie is the Bollywood Remake of ET. It stars the stars Hrithik Roshan who plays the challenging role of a mentally retarded boy who falls in love with Priety Zinta. Roshan was disabled in an accident that was caused by aliens. His father once made contact with ETs using his old computer before he was involved in the accident and died. Hrithik brings out the old computer and makes contact again, but when the aliens come, they leave one behind. Hrithik finds it but what happens after that. This is an almost flawless movie with excellent songs. A must-see for all.
What a great movie!!: When I heard that Bollywood had made a Science fiction movie and being a great lover of India and indian culture curiosity got the better of me so I made my way down to the local multiplex and watched "Koi Mil Gaya". Boy was I impressed! Koi Mil Gaya, (I've found someone) tells the story of a young boy who after his father and mother are in a U.F.O. sighting induced accident is brain damaged. The young fella Rohit (played by the excellent Hristhik Roshan) uses his dad's computer and accidently contacts an alien who then comes down and befriends him and his young friends. Rohit, although looking like a man, has the mind of a small child so he hangs around young children and is held back at school. His life changes when he meets the alien and also when he meets a young lady (Priety Zinta). This movie has been compared to E.T. and sure there are a couple of similarities but not many. I won't spoil the story for anyone here but Koi Mil Gaya is one of the most entertaining and charming movies I had ever had the pleasure of seeing. It's dramatic, funny, sad, has action, romance, great musical numbers, everthing you could ask for in a movie. I've subsequently bought this on dvd as well as anything else I can get my hands of that starts Priety Zinta, she really is a wonderful actress and Hristhik is also a great Indian actor. There are some great songs in this one too (yes it's a musical but don't let that put you off). The energy in this film is wonderful. It's also subtitled but you'll forget about that as you get caught up in this movie. For the best of Bollywood you must see Koi Mil Gaya. And check out also "Kal Ho Naa Ho", "Lagaan", "Armaan", "Mission:Kashmir".
