[.ca] Red Hot Chili Peppers: Live at Slane Castle

Definitely Must See Live DVD:
Wow, I really didn't expect this DVD so great. I mean, I'm not a huge RHCP fan, just a casual listener. But, in terms of general rock live recording, this DVD blew my mind. First, their performance is so perfect and energetic. Especially, I like rather unconventional song selection of this live, because many of the songs show other sides of RHCP, master of not only funky rock but soft, deliberate ballads. Second, camera work and its quality is what I've never seen. The director seems to know what they're playing and adjust video to the music in a real organic way. See what editor did when flea is jumping around. Third, the Irish audiences are the part of this live, inseparable unit. I like the scene where they're singing soccer anthem all together. Even RHCP has to listen to it! In all, this DVD is one of the best live DVDs I've ever seen. Before this, I watched Pearl Jam's Madison Square Garden live DVD, but it is a real crap compared to this. Pearl Jam was really boring, song after song...and the picture quality was bad.

One of the best concerts ever!:
I find this dvd pretty exiting, it was an exellent camara and a perfect sound. The songs are cool and damn! i was just thown by the view of the stage, the crowd and the red hot chili peppers. You have to buy it! i didn't put 5 stars because they sang some songs i didn't like but that was ok.

Good but not a very good song selection......:
This is a great live D.V.D. and the Chili's are preforming at their best. My only issue is the horrible song selection! O.K. maybe I shouldnt say horrible song selection but where the hell are the songs from the 80's! I love the funky style chili peppers but they seem to forget they have songs from that time period to! Another thing NO songs ABSOLUTLY NO SONGS ARE OFF OF "ONE HOT MINUTE". Now ,now I know most people hate that album but there are many fans who love that album including me! They could at least play 1 song off that album like "My Freinds" or "Aeorplane". Finally this is a solid performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and I do like there poppier songs to! But they should have more of an open mind to there music! Cheers!

CHILI PEPPERS:
I fyou are a great fan of the red hot chili peppers, you will be a great fan of this DVD. It has funny moments (just look at john), loud moments and musical everything. This DVDis realy worth buying.

Best DVD ever:
when i got this dvd i was a bit skeptikal, but when i watched it, it made me love the chili peppers even more than i did already! John Frusciante is truly the greatest live guitarist ever, he's my hero now, partly because of this dvd. the dvd inspired me to go see them live at Hyde park on the 19th of june, which, by the way, rocked. no pun intended.(by the way, get it?) i reccomend this dvd to all the red hot chili pepper fans out there. I also reccomend seeing them live. BEST DVD, BAND, GUITARIST, BASSIST, DRUMMER AND SINGER.......EVER!
