[.ca] Germination

The Best of 2003 - The BEST of ALL TIME:
Germination is one of my favorite albums of 2003, if not of all time. I come from a strict background of classic rock, however, I love this album. I recommend this album to ANYONE with the slightest amount of taste. I started listening to Lotus in late 2002, early 2003. When I went to Bonnaroo 2003, we took a boom box with us. Whenever we were back at our tents, we were listening to LOTUS! Most of us had never even heard them before, but we couldn't get enough. Germination is amazing! LOTUS ROCKS!

Lotus Germination CD:
This CD is assume. My favorite is the second track with the keyboards. Has to be one of my all time favorite jams.

Great Live Electronic Grooves!:
This album represents Lotus in a live setting, doing what they do best: melding a variety of musical styles together to create mesmerizing, danceable, and at times, hypnotic grooves. The first track is a cerebreal journey that starts off very calm, then begins to slowly build to a very melodic guitar riff which launches the band into a solid groove with stellar interplay between each band member. The second track, beginning with some catchy keyboard lines, is much more upbeat, with a very electronic feel to it. Layered keyboard lines, multiple guitars, heavy percussion, and driving drums will keep your ears occupied and your feet tapping the ground to the beat. Track three, Crescent, starts with haunting guitar lines that slowly build throughout the duration of this short tune, culminating with a barrage of drums and percussion, then tapering back down again before the song ends. Track four is a very up-beat danceable number at the start, then seemlessly morphs into a dark, trancy jam. Caywood, the fifth track on the album, has a latin feel to it, with lots of interplay between the guitarists, very interesting time signatures, and great percussion work. The final track provides driving bass lines that guide the band through some dark territory before slowing down to allow the listener time to digest the whole Germination experience as the last few minutes of the album glide by. Whether you are a fan of electronic music, jamband music, or simply appreciate good music with a certain level of improvisation, this album is for you.

Energetic tranced-out hypnosis:
Over an hour of relentless ambient trance funk recorded live! Germination is full to the brim with slow-rising grooves, majestic guitars, and spaced-out synthesizers that form this band's limitless sound. Prepare to initialize dance activities!

Best LiveTronica CD of the year!:
The best thing about this CD is that it can work for anytime of the day in almost any setting. Background music for work or for relaxing or turn it up to really get groovin'. Beautiful music that will lift your spirits!
