Long awaited CD: B.W. Stevenson died too young. He was a giant talent and it is good to see his great album "Lead Free" re-released in CD format, coupled with his "BW STevenson" album. I agree with the other reviewer about Stevenson and his work needs to be revived for newer generations. In a way he is like a country version of Jim Croce, another great talent who died before his time. Let's hope that other BW Stevenson albums will be released in CD format.
I've been waiting 22 years for this re-release!!!!!: BW's first self-titled album from 1971 was one of my most fond vinyls when I started college in 1977 in Texas. I somehow lost the album in 1980 and have dreamed of getting it back ever since. It seemed like the recordings were somehow lost or tied up by his heirs after his death and I was afraid I'd never get them again until now!!! So excited to have a copy (esp. tracks 13-22). These are some of the sweetest and most moving ballads ever written. Nothing like it. This CD should be at the top of your "oldies I gotta-have" list. I would have gladly paid $100 for it.
