From Amazon.com: Twenty-two years earlier, the Kanagawa region of Japan was devastated by a major earthquake; the most seriously damaged area was the "Lost Ground." A small percentage of the inhabitants are Alter Users, people with the psychic ability to manipulate matter and create alternate mecha forms of themselves. Hot-tempered, red-haired Kazuma is a powerful Alter who defies authority. His attitude brings him into conflict with HOLY, the special police force recruited from the Alters. Kazuma, whose Alter is robotic fist, defies Ryuho, a martinet whose mecha fights with ribbonlike tentacles. Their duel is complicated by the arrival of Mimori, a brilliant physician who believes in compassion and equality. Although most of the characters are interesting, a few too many appear in the first episodes. Well-paced and well directed, s-CRY-ed ranks among the more original anime series of recent years. okay: I watched a lot of anime but this one brought no one certain charm to me. It has potential (small but some) but i don't see it as really good. Samurai deeper kyo is a dvd to see and roruni kenshin, samurai x. S-cry-ed had nice action and yes was better then dbz at some points but not overwhelmingly better far from it, it only had the battle scenes go faster. I will check out vol.2 and maybe the storyline won't see so vague.
Totally awesome kick-ass anime: This show is so freaking awesome!! There's just something about angsty bishounen beating the crap out of each other... ^_^ Nah, that's not all the show is about, really. Basically, the plot goes like this: There was a big seismic upheaval in Japan, thrusting part of the earth miles into the sky. On this "Lost Ground," certain children began to be born with abilities to alter matter as extensions of themselves or their imagination. These people became known as Alter users. Naturally, things began to get out of hand as many of the "Native Alters" used their powers for destruction and chaos. So a police force, called HOLD was formed to control them. Inside of HOLD, there's an elite group of Alter users called HOLY. The main storyline revolves around a Native Alter named Kazuma, and a HOLY officer, Ryuhou. These two clash at every turn, yet still end up fighting on the same side... then turning right around and kicking each other's ass again. It's great. Though there is some comic relief thrown in, Scryed has so much angst! I'm such a sucker for it. It made me cry in no less than three episodes: (Possible spoilers here, though I'll try to be vague.) Ep 13: Kazuma just going insane with grief at the beginning... then being almost creepily calm later... Ep 17: Kazuma/Ayase. Though there needed to be more set-up for their relationship. Hm... fic bunnies are nibbling.... Ep 23: "You're allowed to cry right now... It's all right to cry!" *sob* This was the worst of the three... and I can't say anything more!! Let's just say the show has no qualms about killing major characters. Heh. But it's still an awesome fighting show... though it's much more than just that. (DBZ is a fighting show. This one has more... drama. Plot. Whatever.) And it has a really cool soundtrack... nothing like fight scenes set to big band swing jazz! Woot! But anyway, you all must watch the show. Like, now. Go. What are you waiting for? ^_^ After I finished watching this the other day, I just sat at my computer desk with a big stupid grin on my face. I love that feeling. Yeah, I'm a geek. ^_^
Theres nothing like good Anime.: S-Cry-Ed is a really cool nicely drawn, more serious anime. They have comedy, but lucky for me, and other Hardcore Anime goers, they keep it 2 a minimal. The focus is on story and best of all, FIGHTING. Thats what I wanna see when I watch an anime. S-Cry-Ed delivers. They use Alters when they fight. Alters, {For those of u that have seen JoJo's bizzare adventures} are kinda like Stands. Each character has his or her very own. 2 main characters, neither good or bad, just on seperate sides. So u get to see from 2 points of view. I love Anime, but I get sick of the TONS of junk out there. S-Cry-Ed is definately the best Anime I've seen lately.
Perfect Action: This anime has to be one of the better ones to come out this year. What I like about it is they took a chance on doing something a little different. Anybody can find that you will love a lot of the charactors and hate most also. The story is still a little clouded at the start but this does not take away from it. I have to say I'm happy they did just jump right into it. It has a very nice plot and I like where its heading. All the little details its missing I know will be coming in the later episodes. So if you love action a good story and something different go ahead buy this one its worth it.
Go buy this!: This series ranks among my top four best along with Kenshin, Naruto, and Hajime no Ippo. This series has awesome fight scenes and also it has a series. Don't listen to anyone who tries to compare it with DBZ, because...well there is no comparison! It's an injustice even trying to categorize them as the same type of anime. The fight scenes don't drag and the story doesn't ever come to a dead stop for ten episodes (like in DBZ). Everything flows at a great pace. Overall, this is one of the best series I have seen. I highly recommend it. Now, about the DVD. I have no complaints about the box and the cards and pendants are great. The only real problem I have is that the poster is folded so many times...but it doesn't matter too much. I know there are import DVD sets with all 26 episodes mashed into 3 discs. Don't get those for any reason other than to watch the series before you collect it. The image quality is much worse than these releases. Well that's all I have to say. NOW GO BUY IT! ^___^
