If you like power metal, buy it. If you want to be introduced to power metal, buy it. IF YOU DON'T LIKE POWER METAL, DON"T BUY IT. It's as simple as that. There are some great bands here: Human Fortress, Shadowkeep, etc. It's a great way to familiarize yourself with the genre...and the price is right for 2 CD's.

Everyone thinks they're Helloween anymore, don't they? Since the power metal resurrection in the mid nineties, these bands have been popping up like Walmarts and Blockbusters. Look, I'm a fan of this genre and have been for many years, but it's really getting ridiculous now. Nobody exploits this as well as Limb records, and we now have a cd packed with Helloween clones for your listening enjoyment. Limb seems to think that if they struck gold with their one and only cash cow, Rhapsody, then they can just sign any cruddy power metal band to their label and make a sale-which, sadly, they do. I have completely sworn off Limb bands from getting burned too many times by the same ole, same ole. They definitely are to power metal what Full Moon pictures is to the horror film. The same guy seems to do the cover art to every album by every band. It's just cookie cutter groups. And while these groups aren't untalented, they're just so derivative and lack any originality. Look at the names of the bands! Look at the album titles! Power metal has always had a bit of cheesiness attached to it, but c'mon, man! I simply cannot recommend this to anyone who isn't a Limb diehard. Limb had better wise up, get Tony Soprano to whack all these guys and bury them in their well deserved Kiss Koffins.
