Sweet little movie: This is a really sweet little movie set in a lovely scenery. Sissy Spacek is great (as always) as hitchhiker Ginger and I have to admit that I probably wouldn't have liked this movie so much if it hadn't had her in it. Anyway, it's a cute little love story, and it also has some very beautiful songs in it (written by Sissy Spacek!). Easy watching!
I Love Sissy, but...: I am a great fan of Sissy Spacek but I found this movie to be a disappointment. The idea behind the movie is nothing new but with Sissy, I thought it would be special. Markham is terrible, so unconvincing, the dialogue is bland and the introduction of Markham's friend is nothing more than a diversion from what should have been more development of the relationship between Sissy and Markham, I guess the writers didn't know how to handle that. Sissy is, as always, a delight to watch and with better support from a co-star and better dialogue, her performance would have been much better. She had to have known she was trying to carry a lame story all by herself. The ending was pure Hollywood sappiness. Why in the world would anyone think the 2 of them would make it as a couple?
