the perfect stupidity is more like it!: Imagine a film about 5 persons climbing mont everest. They almost make it to the top but 4 feet from their success, they suddenly decide to abort the project and return home!Imagine a movie where a ship hits an iceberg and the people work for hours to repair it but when it's done, they suddenly decide to break the reparation because they come to the conclusion that it's better for the ship to sink!Imagine a movie where they try to catch a rare tiger but when they finally caught it ,they decide to let it go free!Imagine a high planned diamond robbery that is a success and at the end,the robbers decide to give all the diamonds back!Imagine teens breaking into an office building to steal SAT answers and once they achieved their mission, they decide to not use any of this stolen information!Well, you don't have to imagine this last story anymore because they made a film out of it and it's called THE PERFECT SCORE.The first 19 minutes set up caracters that are really annoying then it's settles down to a more interesting level which leads to a suspenseful and interesting robbery and in case that doesn't hold your attention, scarlette johansson provides some cleavage.Leonardo nam plays a half genius and a half drugged jerk. When he's a genuis,he is interesting but when he's stoned, what comes out of his mouth is annoying and unfunny. He's not the only annoying caracter in this film.Almost all of them are at one time or another and have reactions, actions, motivations or manners which are hard to understand. So basicly this is a 90 minutes film which has about 40 good minutes in it.It's really not good enough to recommand someone to buy it but it's passable as a rental choice.
interesting and original: The movie begins by introducing 6 very different high school students who all have a motive to do whatever it takes to get the answers to the SAT test. Together they plan to steel the answers at night only to find that they have to complete the SAT test to get the correct answers. Each of the six teens use their own unique and original intelligence to solve the questions. The next day, the day they have to take the test, they meet in the gym to get the answers. Surprisingly, no one takes the answers and the movie ends with all 6 people getting almost what they wanted to achieve after the test.
entertaining crap: It's about high schoolers who decide to steal the answers to the SAT as that test determines your entire life (actually, it doesn't.) But youy know how in high school you know everything (like the Scarlett Johanssen character who sports a maroon 'femullet') and it is all so dire!!! The Erika Christensen character Anna was annoying as the too-perfect stressed-out salutatorian. "I haven't done anything!!" Hello -- you are 17, there is not much you can do legally anyway! The only good characters with a decent storyline are Desmond (NBA star Darius Miles) and the lascivious Roy (Leonard Nam). There is no contrived romance set up between them as there is with "Femullet Francesca" and one bland guy and "Do-Nothing Anna" and the other bland guy. More to the point, they talk about their mothers (Desmond's wants him to get his grades up even though he has a basketball scholarship, Roy's parents are absent throughout everything, and you find out why later.) Nam portrayed Roy with the perfect comedic timing of a wannabe-pimp. The scene where he is trying to check out Francesca's chest while they are all leaning over the computer is hilarious.
The Perfect Score......: I enjoy the movie "The Perfect Score" I assumed it was a comedy but found it to be much more. Now don't get me wrong there was comedy in it and even though it had no real well known actors and actresses they were very good. I predict you and I will be seeing more of them in the future. The reason I liked it was because you have six kids who don't seem to have much faith in themselves to make well enough scores on the dreaded SAT. They plot to steal the answers and end up becoming best friends and learning much more about them selves and what they want out of life for themselves. I don't want to spoil the ending so I won't. As the owner of well over one thousand DVD movies I think I know what people will enjoy. So for the price you can't beat it. Enjoy it, I know I did. I also very much enjoy the behind the scenes clips and the making of the movie.
Excellent Rental but Not Worth the Purchase: The Perfect Score is an awesome movie! I found the plot very interesting along with the well thought out variety of characters. It is easy to connect to a particular character right off the bat (let's hope its not the stoner), which provides for some personal enjoyment while watching. This is the type of movie that starts off strong by catching your interest quickly and continues to throw out puzzling dilemas while the characters are attempting the theft of the SAT scores. I thought this movie was hilarious and offered several themes, yet I think it deserves to stick at a rental store instead of in your movie collection. It seems to be a great one-time-viewing-pleasure type of movie. Thus, be sure to check out The Perfect Score some way or another and enjoy!
