Amazingly funky Afrobeat: I picked this up back in April in Archambault near UQAM. It's amazing. I have been getting into Afrobeat for a while -- Fela Kuti first, then stuff like the Club Africa compilations. Most of the focus seems to be on Nigeria in the 70s, but this shifts things to Ghana, and it's packed with incredibly funky tracks. "No condition is permanent" by Marijata is worth the CD price alone. Definitely worth getting hold of. I haven't heard the first volume, so I don't know how this compares.
