More Lyman magic: Arthur Lyman was such a talented musician. He never got the kind of deep respect he deserved because his music was truly "music" and not just whatever sound was popular at the moment. Listen to his haunting beautiful sounds on the vibraphone and you're transported to a more gentle time and place. His skill on vibes and marimba are fabulous! And he played a pretty mean set of congas to boot. Great sidemen in his group, too. Always beautiful sounds from his pianist. And Chang on percussion was always an adventure. Arthur Lyman was a beautiful person making beautiful music. Gone too soon. Missed always.
