read this !: Once more an excellent performance to my opinion, and yes the camera moves more as in the other dvd's, depends to what you are used to,... to name it terrible,.. or hardly noticing it. song selection is great. Pay attention here::: this dvd is exact the same one sold under the name La vie est belle, and yes i have both of them. Remarkable, that the dvd worldtour concert is of a better sound quality as the La vie est belle,( 2 different dvd manufactures). And i have noticed this with other dvd's too from André Rieu If your ears are spoiled order this one for the few extra dollars.
This is the same as another DVD: I was disappointed when I watched this DVD, as I discovered that it's almost identical to the "La vie est belle" DVD. There are two differences though; there are no English translations to Andre's German narration, and the camera pans, tilts and zooms seem to be jerky. I did not see that problem in the La vie est belle DVD. The music is marvellous though, and the final offering, Ravel's Bolero is simply incredible. However, my reccomendation if you have neither of the DVDs, is to buy La vie est belle and do not buy the worldtour DVD.
Very enjoyable repertoire, very poor visually: Andre Rieu and his team are excellent musicians. The music in this concert is played very well and chosen with great taste for what seems to have been a much-appreciated outdoor concert. Alas, the camera work is awful. The cameras move much too fast, flitting from place to place and angle to angle with dizzying speed through most of the concert. The images, including too many double images, change so fast that you don't really enjoy what is happening. It is almost like being on a roller coaster! I don't know whose decision it was to film it like this, but I was very disappointed and so was my husband who watched it with me. I own three other Andre Rieu DVDs and they are much more enjoyable to watch. I do hope his future DVDs will not be like this.
It would have been great given the chance to watch it: I haven't yet received it. It was ordered June 5th. Now I am told that it isn't available. It would have been nice to have let me know instead of expecting it in the mail at any time. I'll stick to the USA. Lucia
