This set offers the chance to visit a cafe in France during a rather whacky take on the War. The "French" speak with an accent that would have made Chevalier blush (since they're Brits), those playing British flyers are bumbling and stumbling. At any moment, one expects a Mr. Chips to come in and straighter everything out. The Germans have a thick faux-accent as well, and are sillier and much more woman crazy than the English. In almost any list of the greats of British comedy, Allo! Allo! would have to appear. The writing and creation team that gave us Are You Being Served and Goodbye, Mrs. Noah! bring us to France. If you have seen these shows on a public television station, this set is a good value for starting your collection. As Michelle-of-the-Resistance would say "Listen very closely, I shall say this only once: 'You'll love these shows!'"
