Merf.: The original Sims was great. Sims 2 was better. And the University expansion pack is amazing. There are a lot of new items, including a bubble blower, vanity and cash printing machine, as well as new social interactions like playing Kicky Bag (hacky sack) or having a pillowfight. You can even join a fraternity or sorority. Also, I had a problem with stalling and my people not showing up in the space where they are supposed to (on the sims panel, not in the game) but University fixed that. ^_^ Go Sims Go! (I'm waiting for the Nightlife expansion pack. And stalking the people at Maxis. Squee.)
great game, with a few glitches...: This is a great addition to Sims2, and I would recommend it if you are looking for some new things to do. Having the university adds a lot of dimention to the game, and the new jobs and items are really cool. New ways to interact with other sims are good too, as someone else mentioned. I did however, have a few problems once this game was installed. 1. With the toy bear you can buy (available in Sims2), one of my characters was holding it when suddenly his action to talk to another sim with it was cancelled. Usually they will put the bear down. This guy somehow got it lodged in his abdomen, and let me tell you it is not a pretty sight. There is no way to get it out! 2. When the game was installed, some visiting characters became stuck in the house. (nannies, maids, party guests) They are stuck, you have no option to send them home, so you have to wait until they die. One of my families can no longer leave their house lot, so they have missed work and cannot get new jobs because although they 'choose' to go to work, as soon as they get to the mailbox area, the option goes away and they don't get in the carpool. And yes, I have clicked on it 'for' them, the same thing happens. Besides these glitches, I really enjoy the game. (and hey, it is kind of fun to watch the house guests die, they have totally overstayed their welcome!) The bear-in-abdomen-tumor creeps me out though, so I hope Maxis comes up with a patch or something for these issues. Game play can be somewhat slow if you don't have a really really good video card, but the game is pretty addictive, and although mine slows at times, I can certainly overlook that!
More reviews...because of stupid forgetfullyness.: Though, as I said, it's an awesome game, you need one heck of a video card and computer to run it. I have an nVidia Magic FX5200 video card (REALLY powerful), 120 gigs memory, and 512 megabytes RAM- and sometimes the images flicker and the images run slowly. But other than that, it's worth 40 pictures of George Washington.
Whoot!: I have the Sims 2 and The Sims 2 Uni, and I love it. The whole college town thing is so cool! Also the new careers like artist and show business. This expansion pack rocks and I can't wait for the next one.
