[.ca] Employment

From Amazon.com:
Is it too early for a Britpop revival? Not on the watch of Leeds quintet Kaiser Chiefs, who just a decade after the release of Blur's scene-making 1994 album, Parklife, offer a striking follow-up. They've hired the same producer--Stephen Street. They've studied the same influences--the Buzzcocks, the Jam, the Kinks. They've even picked up the same English slice-of-life themes--"I wanna wear my clothes tight/Matching jackets and a fistful of notes/New sneakers and a fresh pack of smokes," goes "Saturday Night." The resulting album, Employment, is just as catchy and captivating as you might expect, swinging from the stormy social commentary of "I Predict A Riot" to the shouty insouciance of "Oh My God." A Trainspotting sequel can't be far off. --Aidin Vaziri

I don't know what the problem is!:
I have no idea what the other reviewer was talking about. While they aren't my favourite British band (Bloc Party has quite an edge) they are an excellent band. I saw them in Vancouver the other day and their stage presence was fantastic. The band was full of energy and gave us our money's worth (two encores). What else could you say about a band where the frontman crowd surfs while still belting out the lyrics?!

i want to be employed:
this cd is awsome, the first reviewer must not know music at all, this cd has great tunes on it

this cd is wicked:
i am so glad i bought this cd it is awesome. i love every track and i love playing especially when it is loud! i bought it for my mum, who loves it as much as i do. we both love everyday i love you less and less, i predict a riot, modern way and na na na na na !! brilliant, i can't w8 4 their next album.

No na na na na na please anymore. ow!:
I really like the singer's voice, the lyrics especially on I Predict a Riot, music, liner note cheekiness and the old style look to the cover but...its ruined by the na, na, na, na and the la, la, la dispersed through the songs. I cant remember how many songs had it but it seemed too many. I would get into the song then the na, na thing would kick in and I react like Austin Powers did when he put a CD in a record player. Overall, they are still a good bad and put an great live show on. Na, na, na, na.

Give me more Kaiser Chiefs!:
I loved almost all of the songs on this CD, and the band's other CDs Lap of Honour, Yours Truly Angry Mob really rock as well. I'm on the lookout for more, no question I'd buy it right away.
