Two Great LPs:
This CD contains two of Guy's wonderful recordings for Capitol Records. Vocalion is to be congratulated for bringing these albums back into the catalogue. "Drifting and Dreaming" is all instrumental, and what a treat. The Lombardo trademarks are all here: melodic saxophones, crisp brass, and sweet muted trumpet. The arrangements are complex while respecting the melody. A first class collection. "Dancing Room Only" is a great collection of both instrumental and vocal standards. Again, a wonderful album that has too long been unavailable. For the seasoned Lombardo collector, or for someone who is just learning the delights of Lombardo's well presented melody and intelligible lyrics, this CD is a must.
