MPE has arrived:
For those looking for Dark Tranquility, early Bodom, or a little more going on in your now standard Swedish death metal then it is time to give MPE a listen. While at times very harsh for a such a technical band, Unborn also has a clarity that lets the listener get the full scope of what is going on. And there is alot. Mainman and guitar-smith Jori Haukio, who knows how to get around a fret board, has really brought the goods here. MPE is cranking out a thrashy-death that uses a variety of keyboard sounds. The pace is almost alway frenetic and Haukio has stacked riff upon riff. Always considered a poor-man's Bodom nothing here really shakes loose that tag but this is metal done really well and with pure metal heart. Vocals are a tad harsher than most. Cuts: Parasites of Paradise and Fragile Flesh show MPE's wares.

Les successeurs de Dark Tranquillity:
Ce groupe ne cesse de me surprendre. Depuis que j'ai entendu le surprenant mais très réussi Inhumanity de Mors Principium Est, j'ai su qu'ils allaient suivre ce que Dark Tranquillity est en train de laisser comme héritage en terme de -Gothenburg Death Metal Sound-. Et même si MpE sont finlandais, ils ont bien compris avec The Unborn le succès de cette formule. The Unborn compte, selon moi, bcp de similitudes avec le dernier de Dark Tranquillity, Character et c'est ce qui en fait son succes. Comme on dit si bien, cet album est vraiment un BUY OR DIE si vous pouvez vous le permettre. Ils sont sur le meme label que les 1er albums de Soilwork, soit l'étiquette française Listenable Records.
