[.ca] Jurassic Park Adventure Pack (Jurassic Park/ The Lost ...

One Classic, One Weak Follow Up, One Good Adventure:
If you read the title of this review, I am refering to the three DVD's included in this set. "Jurassic Park", the first and orginal is a classic. This box sets version includeds a great deal of extras, but honestly I think most were just to say we have extras. Only thing I found worth watching was a 40 minute 'making of' which shows how they were able to do some scenes and how they made the dinosaurs look so real. It is really worth a watch at least once. But the rest of the extras which include: A small bio of each dino, storyboard drawings, pictures of the production of the film, JP movie trailers, and some others.5/5 "Jurassic Park: The Lost World", I think this movie was made just because there was a demand for a second movie. It was once again well done, but the writers messed up here. They tried to had a comic sense to the movie, which does work most of the time, but way overdone a great deal which dulls the movie. One example is when everyone is hanging on for their life and someone comes to help them out and says something like "i'll get the rope, need anything else?"; to which they reply "yeah a hamburger and fries, hold the tomato" and "yeah get me a milkshake". That kills any suspense the scene is trying to get. Other then those flaws, it's still a decent movie, but the worst of the 3. As for the extras, same as the first disc: A longer 'making of' which again is worth watching, then much of the same as "Jurassic Park" disc, more bios, pictures, stills, pictures, posters and other fillers.3/5 "Jurassic Park III", This movie returns to it's roots and looks even better and more realistic then the first and second, it is very suspenseful, and an exciting adventure like the orginal. Technolgoly has now allowed for them to create badder and better looking dinos, and doesn't waste anytime showing it off. JP III on it's own would still be a great movie. As for the extras on this DVD, it out does the other two. It also has a 'making of' special and some bios and toys and other mindless stuff. But it does include some interesting stuff such which is worth watching.4/5 OVERALL, like I said, One Classic, One Weak Follow Up, One Good Adventure, most movies that have three sequels, all are junk but the first. Jurassic Park series is worth watching and worth owning. One downfall is the packaging, it looks really good and they make it to access the DVD's the open two doors from the Jurassic Park movie, but the doors don't stay shut by themselves, when you add it to your collection, it may want to push the other DVD's away from it. Other then that it is nice to see something different. Enjoy!
